L’Osservatorio Auto e Mobilità della Luiss Business School ha condotto un’approfondita analisi sull’incidenza dell’Intelligenza Artificiale (IA) nel settore automobilistico, esaminando le implicazioni tecniche, legislative, economiche, sociali ed etiche. Lo studio ha introdotto il concetto di “Automobile Sapiens“, una nuova generazione di veicoli principalmente guidati dal software, previsti per dominare il mercato, passando dal 3,4% nel 2021 al 90% entro il 2030. Questi cambiamenti trasformeranno radicalmente l’esperienza utente e il modello di business del settore automobilistico.
Durante la presentazione, Michele Crisci, Presidente di UNRAE, ha sottolineato l’efficacia dello studio, evidenziando come l’IA possa semplificare la complessità tecnologica e rendere l’interfaccia uomo-veicolo più intuitiva e personalizzabile. Ha evidenziato l’impegno continuo delle case automobilistiche associate a UNRAE per elevare gli standard di sicurezza e comfort, migliorando la serenità durante la guida.
Il documento evidenzia che l’IA è diventata il motore principale degli investimenti digitali nel settore automobilistico, con stime che prevedono una spesa che supererà i 70 miliardi di dollari entro il 2030, generando un mercato annuo di circa 30 miliardi di dollari con tassi di crescita annuali del 20-30%. L’IA contribuirà significativamente al valore prodotto dalle case costruttrici, con previsioni che superano i 200 miliardi di dollari entro il 2025 per tutti i segmenti della catena del valore.
L’analisi sottolinea che le forme di intelligenza artificiale sono già presenti in una percentuale del 20-30% nel settore automobilistico e si prevede che questa cifra raggiunga il 100% entro il 2030. La nuova generazione di veicoli definiti dal software vedrà l’IA diventare una fonte importante del valore settoriale, stimata tra il 15-20% del fatturato complessivo, con un’imponente crescita prevista per i fornitori e i costruttori.
Definita come un veicolo capace di interagire autonomamente con l’utente e il contesto, elaborando e apprendendo in modi simili a quelli umani, l'”Automobile Sapiens” offre una personalizzazione senza precedenti. Tuttavia, emergono questioni legali ed etiche legate alla gestione dei dati sensibili e all’impatto ambientale, che richiedono nuove regolamentazioni e approcci di autoregolamentazione da parte dell’industria. Il consumo energetico associato all’IA potrebbe rappresentare una sfida significativa, con previsioni che indicano un aumento del consumo fino a quasi il 50% del fabbisogno elettrico italiano entro il 2027.
